First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has introduced a new feature on its mobile app that allows users to open investment accounts and invest directly in mutual funds. This innovation gives customers seamless access to a variety of mutual fund options managed by FCMB Asset Management Limited, the bank’s asset management arm. The funds include the Legacy Money Market Fund, Legacy Equity Fund, Legacy Debt Fund, and the Legacy USD Bond Fund, catering to different investor needs and risk appetites.

According to FCMB, this development is part of its broader mission to build a unified digital financial ecosystem that integrates banking, payments, and investments into a single convenient platform. The Managing Director of FCMB, Yemisi Edun, explained that the bank’s goal goes beyond digital convenience, emphasizing that the vision is to create a connected ecosystem where financial services work together to improve customer experience.

James Ilori, the CEO of FCMB Asset Management, added that the initiative aims to democratize access to investment opportunities and make wealth creation simple and inclusive. By allowing customers to invest directly through the mobile app, FCMB is eliminating traditional barriers to investing and giving Nigerians an easier way to grow their money.

The new feature is available to all users who update or download the FCMB mobile app from their respective app stores. With this upgrade, FCMB continues to position itself as a forward-thinking bank focused on innovation, convenience, and financial inclusion.
