Visa West Africa is delighted to announce the appointment of Abidemi Onajobi as our new Head of Risk.
With over two decades of professional experience spanning development finance, banking, consulting, and the oil & gas industry, Abidemi brings a wealth of expertise in risk management, product development, regulatory compliance, strategy, and business analysis. Known for his analytical approach, dedication, and results-driven leadership, he will play a pivotal role in strengthening our risk framework and advancing our growth agenda.
Before joining Visa, Abidemi served as Head of Risk Management at Impact Credit Guarantee Limited (ICGL), a subsidiary of the Development Bank of Nigeria. He previously led the establishment of the Credit Risk Management Department at Parallex Bank Limited, where he built the frameworks, processes, and teams that enabled the institution’s transformation from a microfinance bank to a fully licensed commercial bank. His career journey also includes impactful roles as a Financial Consultant, Commercial Business Analyst in the energy sector, and Head of Risk Policy within the banking industry.
