MultiChoice Uganda has launched a new range of affordable weekly subscription packages for DStv and GOtv under the campaign “Ka Weekie.” The initiative, announced on Thursday, is aimed at making pay-TV services more flexible and accessible to customers who prefer short-term payment options.
The weekly subscriptions start from as low as UGX 5,000, with the DStv Lumba and GOtv Lite packages offering the most affordable entry points. The company explained that the campaign was developed in response to customer demand for more flexible and budget-friendly alternatives, giving viewers the ability to manage their subscriptions according to their income patterns and lifestyles.
The new plans are designed to appeal to a wide range of users, including daily or weekly earners, frequent travelers, and those who prefer on-demand entertainment. MultiChoice emphasized that the initiative is part of its broader effort to ensure that premium content remains within reach of a larger audience.
Subscribers can access the packages through the MyDStv and MyGOtv mobile apps, by dialing *206#, or via mobile money platforms such as Airtel Money and MTN MoMo. Payments can also be made through partner banks and selected agents across the country. Customers still have the option to switch back to monthly, quarterly, or annual subscriptions at any time, with any active weekly plan deducted from the new payment made.
MultiChoice Uganda, a subsidiary of MultiChoice Africa Holdings established in 1994, continues to provide a wide variety of entertainment channels through its DStv satellite and GOtv terrestrial services.
