This week’s edition of Follow the Money with Ugodre placed the spotlight on Guinness Nigeria, which has taken the crown as 2025’s best-performing stock. The brewer’s shares have skyrocketed 161% so far this year—its biggest rally since joining the Nigerian Exchange in 2012.
Remarkably, this turnaround follows a dismal 2024 when Guinness posted a N73 billion loss. Fast-forward to 2025, the company bounced back with a N27.9 billion profit, restoring market confidence and fueling its impressive run.
The program also reviewed GTco Holdings’ performance. The group announced a N601 billion profit for the first half of the year—lower than the previous year due to the absence of last year’s foreign exchange gains. Still, GTco’s core business remains strong: interest income climbed 31.5% to N812 billion, and it declared a N1 per share dividend while trading near N90. Analysts believe the stock could still be attractive for investors.
On a broader note, the Nigerian All-Share Index has advanced 38% year-to-date, nudging market capitalization towards N90 trillion.
