
Transcorp Hotels Plc has delivered a standout performance in Q3 2025, reporting a pre-tax profit of ₦10.1 billion, marking a significant jump from the ₦5.9 billion recorded in the same period last year.
For the first nine months of 2025, the company achieved a pre-tax profit of ₦22.4 billion—up 36.3% year-on-year—driven by strong revenue growth.
Revenue for the quarter reached ₦24.7 billion, up 31.8% compared with Q3 2024, while nine-month revenue climbed to ₦72.3 billion from ₦48.4 billion a year ago. Room revenue led the way at ₦48 billion, followed by food and beverage sales at ₦21 billion. Shop rentals and event hall rentals added ₦1.3 billion and ₦1.1 billion respectively, with other services accounting for the balance.
Despite a modest increase in cost of sales to ₦5.8 billion (up 4.8%), the company generated a gross profit of ₦18.8 billion in Q3, representing a 43.4% year-on-year rise. Operating expenses rose 9% to ₦8 billion, and other operating income fell from ₦735.7 million to ₦130.9 million. Still, operating profit stood at ₦10.9 billion, significantly higher than the ₦6.5 billion in Q3 2024.
Interest costs dipped to ₦957.6 million (from ₦1.06 billion), helping push the pre-tax profit up 70.6% to the ₦10.1 billion figure. After accounting for a tax charge of ₦4 billion, net profit reached ₦6.1 billion—up 69.6% from the same period last year.
On the balance sheet, total assets were reported at ₦154.2 billion, climbing 9.6% year-on-year, with property, plant and equipment making up ₦122.8 billion of that. Retained earnings increased to ₦70.4 billion (from ₦63.2 billion in December 2024) and total equity rose to ₦88.2 billion (+9.6%). Total liabilities stood at ₦66 billion, up from ₦60.1 billion, with trade and other payables at ₦28.9 billion.
Chairman Emmanuel Nnorom attributed the strong showing to discipline in cost management, operational improvements and a customer-first focus. Managing Director/CEO Uzo Oshogwe pointed to the newly opened 5,000-seat event centre as a milestone that positions Nigeria as a top destination for global conferences and events. She added that with solid assets and a dedicated team, Transcorp Hotels is well-positioned for sustained growth and enhanced shareholder value.
The company’s share price, as of 20 October 2025, was ₦164.60—up 41.9% year-to-date.
